Surprise Party

I was totally surprised yesterday by Andrea, who threw me a birthday party for my big 3-0. We were dropping off our boys at her parent’s house and then going to go for dinner and a ride up the coast on my bike. I was waiting outside their house for her to come out for the ride when my father-in-law tricked me inside with a computer problem to fix.

As I came in “SURPRISE!” So our ride is postponed…but it was a great night nonetheless. It hasn’t sunken in that I’m out of my 20s yet. I’ve lost the good excuse of “I’m in my 20s” for when I do something stupid, or don’t do something I should. Oh well, I’ll come up with something else.

I got a big kick watching your mother looking out the window to see if you were coming, like a big kid. Your in-laws cook awesome and what a great place to hold so many people. Dr. Dave and Pastor were so funny on the motorcycle and really entertaining. Your wife did a great job in putting it all together and getting you there too. Your Aunt Sheila did some Martha Stewart thing with the napkins that was quite impressive (inside joke) You are blessed to have such a wonderful family and friends, it was fun and I was glad to be there to enjoy! You are a blessing to so many....
