New chic Indonesian spot opened by the son of Chef Jean George Vongerichten. French chef Cedric Vongerichten and his beautiful wife Ochi, have done a spectacular job in this huge for Nolita standards restaurant (next door to Mother's Ruin). Ultimate treat is how involved Ochi is, the interacted with every table, asking about your meal and making a point to make sure the service was top. Also, their drinks are VERY strong.
The interior decor is aaammmaaazing- makes you feel super relaxed, like if you were at a spa but it's a restaurant. The front has a few tables and the beautiful bar, and keeps extending all the way to the back-I didn't love everything we had but here's what we ordered:
Crispy Baby Squid - order, very good
Shrimp Satay - I didn't love it
Yellow rice with egg- special off menu and so yummy!!
Peekytoe Crab Cake - good but you could do without it
Clams Jimbaran style - I wish I could have liked them but too much lemongrass for me
